"It's the end of the world as we know it"

I recently read an article about ozone depletion and I can't help but get depressed.

I mean, from ozone depletion, to deforestation, to CO2 levels rising, to cow's methane production... It just seems that we are screwing this world up faster than we can restore it! Most of these natural disasters (i.e. the tsunami and Hurricane Katrina) and extinctions are to blame on humans. I wish that somehow we could speed up the invention of new technology (even though this would probably not be the ideal solution for our problems.)

The ideal solution would have been to stop doing all these things we have been doing! However we have gone too far already. It appears now that the only hope for restoration of the earth is through advancement in technology. The sad thing is, if we hadn't have gotten more advanced in the first place, then we wouldn't have gotten into this mess.

I feel so horrible for all the things that humans have done to the earth (and all the things still happening) that I prefer not to think about them at all. And when I don't think about them, they still have a sneaky way of getting into my thoughts (because I feel bad about not thinking about them). As if I wasn't already a constant worrier! :P

Argh! can't we just be nice to the planet? Then again that would involve a lot of effort, and most people wouldn't be willing. I don't even know if I am willing.

(btw I am not excluding myself when I say people and humans. I am just as much to blame as the next person, and I wish I wasn't..)

I know this is an ongoing debate, and I really believe that if more people thought about the environment and made a consious effort to preserve it, use less energy, buy hybrid cars, then eventually, things might start looking up :D I have faith that we as humans will get ourselves out of the mess we created, I just hope its not too late for other creatures that bore the brunt of it.. and at the risk of sounding incredibly cheesy, we humans seem to be the much feared "weapon's of mass destruction."

*sigh*

PUPPY!

Hey there everyone! Sorry I havn't updated in a while, but I've been busy! :)

Now on to the better news! I got my puppy yesterday! He is the cutest 8 week old ball of fluff in the world! :) and his name is Io as I've mentioned before!

He's a rough collie (tri-color) hehe and in the picture you'll see his ears glued down so they can be kinda droopy when he's older :) I have mixed feelings about that because they look really cute droopy, but you are GLUING your puppies ears down!!! (not as bad as cutting off its tail and cutting its ears like in Dobermans I must admit)

Either way he is so good! I can't believe a puppy can be this good! He was a little rowdy in the car, but overall a very good puppy with no "accidents" what-so-ever.
Did I mention he is almost house trained?? He hasn't had 1 accident yet in the house, not even over-night and with the exception on a little bit of water on the hardwood (which might have been Sebastian trying to frame him :P) he just waits patiently to go outside!

Speaking of Sebastian, he seems to be handling the new puppy sitation pretty well :) He's a sweety and is a little scared so hides behind the couch. But he isn't hissing or anything and I'm fairly certain that they will learn to get along :)

Also he didn't make a noise during the night! Gerri and I slept in the den, ready to comfort him if need be, but he let us sleep just fine! (little did he know that we both kept waking up and thinking "why isn't the little puppy whining??" hehe)
ok well that's it for now! If anyone has any questions or comments, or wants more pics I'll be happy to oblige! :)

(p.s. I don't know what happened to the pictures and why they are so random! but oh well at least they are super cute!!) :)
